Job Title: Design Engineer I

Location: Oshkosh, WI

Pay Rate: 40/hr, W 2

Summary:

  • US Citizenship: Yes, required
  • Dual Citizenship: No
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Duration: 2+ Month Contract
  • Work Mode: Open for Hybrid or Remote
  • Schedule: Flex time, core hours are 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, 40 hrs/week

Responsibilities:

  • Perform basic engineering calculations, investigations, and tasks under close supervision.
  • Support senior engineers in preparing basic plans, designs, computation methods, and reporting.
  • Work on projects of limited complexity in a support role.
  • Collaborate with other engineering or business support disciplines internally and suppliers externally.
  • Maintain effective communication with suppliers, internal and external customers, and outside resources concerning technical issues.
  • Enforce the proper use of engineering criteria and drawing standards.
  • Evaluate designs for performance, safety, and reliability.
  • Prepare layouts, drawings, specifications, and bills of material.
  • Perform engineering analysis to support the selection of parts, components, and materials that meet requirements.
  • Provide non-complex technical assistance for production support.
  • Analyze and resolve issues reported to Engineering via verbal or written communication.
  • Prepare technical proposals, quotations, reports, and presentations.
  • Utilize analytical and mathematical approaches to calculate or model system performance and optimize designs.
  • Regular attendance is required.

Requirements:

  • Accredited Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Internship experience or six (6) or more months of related work experience.
  • Mechanical knowledge of automotive or heavy-vehicle equipment and related systems.
  • Experience with a high-level CAD system.

Preferred Skills:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience with a strong mechanical background.
