Summary:

  • Location: Huntersville, NC
  • Duration: 5-6 Months
  • Work Mode: Hybrid with 2-3 days per week WFH
  • US Citizenship is required.


Responsibilities:

  • Vehicle and product system design and development.
  • System physics modeling and characterization.
  • CAD system and component concept development and packaging.
  • Application of linear-static Finite Element Analysis in design optimization.
  • Technical drawing generation.
  • Prepare and present project status reports.
  • Test design, development, and reporting (DVP&R).
  • Support and resolve customer problems using mechanical, analytical, CAE, and project management skills.
  • Prepare technical specifications.
  • Develop testing methods and procedures.
  • Investigate alternative business opportunities.
  • Support manufacturing by answering questions and responding to ECRs.
  • Present results to and take direction from external customers.


Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of engineering employment experience.
  • BS in Mechanical, Aerospace, Automotive Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Experience in Siemens NX 2406 or newer - parametric 3D modeling.
  • ANSYS Mechanical Analysis experience.
  • Windchill product lifecycle management helpful.
  • Full vehicle understanding and how systems interact with each other.
  • Mechanical design – not limited to billet/sheet metal.
  • Composite, mold, and tooling design.
  • Strong technical writing, communication, team, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint).


Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in parametric 3D modeling and ASME Y14.5-Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
  • Motorsport industry experience (NASCAR preferred).
  • Team player with great attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong work ethic and pride in work products.
  • Interest in technology and learning new things.


Physical Demands:

  • Ability to support technicians and shop builds.
  • Operate simple hand tools, etc.


Expected Hours of Work:

  • 8am-4pm core (minimum) work hours.
  • Project surge support and additional effort as needed to achieve deadlines.
  • Some travel may be required for customer and supplier meetings, and off-site testing.


Work Environment:

  • Work will typically be performed in a team-based office environment.
