Design Engineer 4 (92935-1)
Cullerton Group has a new opportunity for a Design Engineer 4. The work will be done onsite in Brooklyn Park, MN. This is a long-term position that can lead to permanent employment with our client. Compensation is up to $60/hour + full benefits (vision, dental, health insurance, 401k, and holiday pay).
Job Summary
The Design Engineer 4 will focus on hydraulic system integration for advanced heavy equipment, supporting new product introduction (NPI) initiatives. This role involves designing, developing, and validating hydraulic systems while collaborating with cross-functional global teams. The engineer will work on component placement, system routing, and design optimization to meet performance, cost, and manufacturability targets. This position offers hands-on involvement in prototype builds and system-level problem solving.
Key Responsibilities
Design and integrate hydraulic system components including pumps, motors, valves, and hose routing
Develop and release detailed engineering drawings and documentation packages
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (structures, powertrain, electrical) to ensure system compatibility
Participate in prototype builds to identify and resolve hydraulic system issues
Evaluate design trade-offs and optimize solutions for performance, cost, and manufacturability
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
810 years of relevant engineering experience
Strong experience in 3D modeling, component design, and system integration
Proficiency in GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
Experience with product development lifecycle, from concept through production
Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with hydraulic systems in heavy equipment, automotive, or agricultural machinery
Experience working in global, cross-functional engineering teams
Familiarity with design for manufacturing and cost optimization strategies
