Design Center Leader

Two paths. One leadership role. Whether you're an experienced PE or SE ready to lead at a high level, or an emerging leader ready to take the next step - we're looking for someone who wants to build teams, develop people, and help shape what gets built.

At RedBuilt, we recognize that great leaders come from different places in their careers. Whether you're a licensed Professional Engineer or Structural Engineer ready to lead at a high level, or an emerging leader ready to step into your first major leadership role, we offer a path to grow and make an impact.

We are hiring a Design Center Leader in Boise - and we're open to the right candidate at either level.

The Role (Applies to Both Tracks)

You'll lead a team of designers and engineers delivering structural solutions across floor, roof, wall, and mass timber systems. You'll influence and own team performance, team development, customer outcomes, and business results - while helping shape how we scale and grow. This role is on-site and hands-on (remote or hybrid work schedules not available).

Choose Your Path

Path 1: Design Center Manager (PE) - For experienced leaders ready to own technical direction

You might be a fit if you:

  • Are a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or licensed Structural Engineer (SE)
  • Have experience leading engineering teams or complex design efforts
  • Want to take ownership of design quality, standards, and stamping responsibility
  • Enjoy developing associates and influencing business outcomes

What You'll Be Responsible For

  • Serve as technical authority and stamping engineer where required
  • Own engineering quality, code compliance, and risk management
  • Lead and develop a team of engineers, EITs, and designers
  • Set design standards and drive consistency across projects
  • Partner with sales and leadership to support growth and market strategy
  • Use data and metrics to drive performance, efficiency, and financial results

What You'll Get

  • Influence on engineering direction and business strategy
  • Opportunity to lead in mass timber and other strategic initiatives
  • A visible leadership role with direct impact on what gets built

Path 2: Design Center Supervisor (Emerging Leader) - For high-potential associates ready to step into leadership

You might be a fit if you:

  • Have strong design experience and are ready to lead people, not just projects
  • Have started mentoring others or influencing team outcomes
  • Want to grow into technical authority and leadership responsibility over time

What You'll Be Responsible For

  • Lead and support a team of designers and engineers (with mentorship from senior leaders)
  • Develop your leadership skills in coaching, accountability, and team performance
  • Participate in technical reviews of shop drawings
  • Help improve workflows, efficiency, and design quality
  • Partner with Sales and customers to support project success

What You'll Get

  • A clear path into associate leadership
  • Direct mentorship from experienced engineering leaders
  • Hands-on leadership experience
  • Exposure to both technical and business decision-making
  • A visible leadership role with direct impact on what gets built

What Success Looks Like (Both Tracks)

Regardless of entry point, success in this role means:

  • Building a high-performing, engaged team
  • Delivering accurate, efficient, and buildable design solutions
  • Strengthening relationships with customers and internal stakeholders
  • Driving continuous improvement and operational performance
  • Contributing to the growth of RedBuilt
