Description:

Serve as District resource for construction plans and drawings; produce legible and accurate drawings for building construction and remodels; maintain key construction and maintenance related drawings and documents.

Essential Functions:

  • Create and maintain architectural drawings, site utility plans, security plans, emergency egress plans, and other related drawings using latest version of AutoCAD and PDF software. Provide AutoCAD support to the Design & Construction department including documenting and managing drafting standards and templates.
  • Create and maintain a database of the all-district drawings, both paper and electronic, building and construction specifications and other pertinent information and documents. Maintain legal documents related to purchased properties, existing properties, easements, and legal descriptions.
  • Working from written or oral instruction, create drawings using AutoCAD; prepare drawings for yearly capital improvements for board approval and construction purposes; work with external architects and engineers as needed.
  • Perform fieldwork to locate and record existing conditions and changes to building system in the district; record facility easements and utility locations and answer questions related to existing conditions.
  • Record changes made during construction or discovered by facilities staff on the as-built and master drawing database; maintain and manage district drawings database.
  • Maintain aerial and site digital photographs of facilities and facilities renovations.
  • Create and maintain Facility Guide that includes basic information on all facilities about cost, square footage, space utilization, acreage, legal descriptions, and other relevant data.
  • Facilitate communication between facilities personnel on issues related to district construction and maintenance projects.
  • Perform tasks and duties relevant to any of various roles or responsibilities assigned by supervisor and determined by management to be appropriate for this position; comply with all policy, procedure, regulation and other communicated requirements as may be in effect for the workgroup or worksite.

Job Requirements:

  • This position requires a minimum of three years' experience working as a high-level draftsperson, intern, designer or project coordinator.
  • Experience in an architectural firm is preferred.
  • Must have a valid Class D Drivers License.
  • Bilingual is a plus

Education:

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate field, or a High School diploma accompanied by at least five (5) years of relevant equivalent work experience.

Facilities Support

Hiring Range:

$45,550 to $50,318 annually dependent upon experience plus $9,600 additional compensation yearly for salary-in-lieu of paid dependent benefit coverage.
