ABOUT THE JOB:
The Deputy Director, Assessor serves as the primary technical authority responsible for continuity, statutory compliance, and integrity of assessment and roll administration functions. This position partners with the Assessor to provide strategic leadership, guide organizational initiatives, and position the office to meet future challenges. The Deputy Director will oversee all functions of assessment in the Assessors Office, including supervision of professional and technical staff and all facets of tax calculation and preparing the Tax Roll. May act on behalf of the Assessor in the Assessor's absence to ensure uninterrupted operational direction, statutory compliance, and timely decision-making necessary to meet roll administration and legal requirements.
This position is in office Monday through Friday.

Compensation
$11,382.03 to $15,367.99 per month for a 172.67 hour work month. Excellent County benefit package when eligible. This position is available immediately.

Must have dependable transportation and be able and willing to drive throughout Deschutes County in sometimes adverse weather conditions.

This position requires a bachelors degree in business management or related field; a minimum of five (5) years of experience in tax assessment; and a minimum of three (3) years supervisory experience and any combination of experience and training that would provide the required knowledge and abilities.
