SAIC is seeking a Deputy Chief of Staff. This position functions as the primary support staff point of contact for the Program Manager and Government Customer to manage the PNT workload. Under Chief of Staff guidance, and in response to the Government Customer's needs, coordinates and manages the essential daily and long-term activities of the DoD CIO PNT directorate with the support staff and other stakeholder directorates and agencies as required, assigning and processing the task load to ensure all Customer needs are met in a timely and efficient manner. Must be a creative and results-driven thinker, an excellent problem solver and possess the ability to remain calm and productive in a highly dynamic environment and to effectively manage a multi-tiered workload and multiple simultaneous tasks. This position is located in Arlington, VA.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Organize and assign staff work functions and activities to the support staff.
Coordinate strategic initiatives and guidance with the support staff.
Anticipate Customer needs and prepare sufficient information.
Track daily tasks and help oversee projects of high importance.
Act as a main staff POC to the Customer and the Program Manager.
Manage Customer calendar and meeting schedules to ensure deadlines are being met.
Interpret and apply DoD and National PNT related Policy as required.
Work with support staff and all stakeholders to ensure staff work is completed.
Act as liaison for staff, the Customer, department leaders, as required.
Assist Customer and Program Manager with communication, meeting planning, and messaging to the support staff and outside stakeholders.
Advises Customer and Program Manager on current working climate (employee wellbeing, project statuses, new proposals, etc.).
Works with internal and external stakeholders to ensure unity of messaging to senior leaders.
Help coordinate enterprise-wide procedures and work to improve existing processes for maximum clarity, efficiency, and success.
Attend meetings, or assign meeting attendees as required, to support the Customer and deliver progress reports to the Customer.
Performs all other duties as assigned by the Customer and Program Manager.
