Depot Manager / Senior Logistician

Position Overview

The Depot Manager / Senior Logistician is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing logistics and supply chain activities in support of Department of Defense (DoD) programs. This role supports the full lifecycle of logistics operations, including provisioning, spares management, shipping and receiving, transportation coordination, maintenance and repair planning, depot operations, and Integrated Product Support (IPS).

The position oversees the flow of materials, products, services, and logistics information to ensure mission readiness and customer support requirements are achieved. Responsibilities include managing inventory and material tracking, coordinating import/export activities, ensuring compliance with federal and international shipping regulations, and supporting lifecycle maintenance and sustainment activities for major systems and equipment.

This role requires strong knowledge of DoD logistics principles, supply chain management, and program execution processes, along with the ability to independently resolve complex logistics challenges and implement process improvements. The individual may serve as a primary customer interface, utilize logistics information systems for tracking and reporting activities, and provide guidance and mentorship to junior logistics personnel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze, plan, and execute provisioning, spares management, shipping/receiving, and maintenance/repair activities in support of assigned DoD programs and depot operations.
  • Evaluate contractual requirements, technical data, customer usage trends, maintenance practices, and operational needs to determine logistics and sustainment support requirements.
  • Manage the flow of materials, products, services, and associated logistics information from point of origin through final delivery to meet customer and mission requirements.
  • Oversee inventory control, material tracking, warehouse activities, and demand analysis to support supply chain performance, operational readiness, and delivery objectives.
  • Coordinate domestic and international shipments, including planning, scheduling, routing, and monitoring import/export activities while ensuring compliance with customs, brokerage, trade, and transportation regulations.
  • Support lifecycle maintenance, system fault analysis, depot repair activities, and Integrated Product Support (IPS) functions for major systems and equipment.
  • Utilize logistics and inventory management systems to track, log, verify, and report material movements, shipping status, maintenance activities, and supply chain performance metrics.
  • Monitor and improve logistics processes, distribution activities, and supply chain operations to enhance efficiency, cost control, customer service, and mission effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with established policies, procedures, contractual requirements, and quality standards related to logistics and sustainment operations.
  • Serve as a logistics subject matter resource and primary customer interface for assigned areas of responsibility, providing status updates, issue resolution, and operational support.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior logistics personnel and may support task oversight, schedule coordination, timecard verification, and performance input as required

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Purchasing, or a related discipline
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in logistics, supply chain, or provisioning within a DoD, federal, or comparable environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in:
  • Logistics planning and execution
  • Inventory management and analysis
  • Maintenance and provisioning support
  • Supply chain process improvement
  • Knowledge of DoD, federal, and/or industry logistics standards and requirements.
  • Ability to analyze complex data from multiple sources and develop actionable solutions.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Effective communication skills, including the ability to present complex or sensitive information and build consensus across stakeholders.

Clearance Requirements

  • Top Secret Clearance Required / SCI Eligible

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting DoD or defense-related programs.
  • Familiarity with Integrated Product Support (IPS) and lifecycle logistics frameworks.
  • Knowledge of import/export compliance, customs regulations, and international logistics.
  • Preferred experience coordinating international shipments and import/export activities, including customs documentation, tariff and trade compliance, and adherence to ITAR, EAR, and applicable federal and international shipping regulations.
  • Experience with logistics or ERP systems (e.g., Costpoint, SAP, Oracle, or similar).
  • Prior experience mentoring or leading small teams or projects.

Work Environment & Scope

  • Operates within established program and departmental guidelines, with responsibility for impacting operational, customer, and project outcomes.
  • Works cross-functionally with engineering, program management, procurement, and customer representatives.
  • May support domestic and international logistics operations, including coordination with external vendors and government agencies.

Salary Range: 93,800.00 - 140,700.00

The salary range posted is based on Colorado Springs, CO. The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate's location, knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or experience, contract affordability, and in consideration of internal parity.
