Job Description:

Position Summary

The Supervisor at the Houston Tarps location is responsible for overseeing daily operations with a strong focus on safety compliance, time management, inventory control, and workforce scheduling. This role ensures that production and warehouse activities are carried out efficiently, safely, and in alignment with company policies and performance standards.

Key Responsibilities

Safety

  • Enforce company safety policies and OSHA regulations at all times
  • Conduct regular safety meetings, audits, and inspections
  • Identify safety hazards and implement corrective actions
  • Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Report and investigate incidents, near misses, and injuries

Time Management & Productivity

  • Monitor daily operations to ensure productivity targets and deadlines are met
  • Assign tasks and manage labor to maximize efficiency
  • Reduce downtime and address workflow bottlenecks
  • Track attendance, punctuality, and performance
  • Ensure employees adhere to company time and attendance policies

Inventory Control

  • Oversee inventory accuracy for tarps, materials, and supplies
  • Conduct cycle counts and coordinate physical inventories
  • Ensure proper receiving, storage, and issuing of materials
  • Minimize inventory shrinkage, waste, and damage

Scheduling & Staffing

  • Create and manage employee schedules to meet operational demands
  • Approve time-off requests and manage coverage needs
  • Train, coach, and develop team members
  • Participate in hiring, onboarding, and disciplinary actions as needed

Leadership & Communication

  • Lead by example and maintain a positive, professional work environment
  • Communicate expectations clearly to team members
  • Provide regular feedback and performance evaluations
  • Ensure company policies and procedures are consistently followed

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Minimum 2–5 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or industrial operations
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations and safe work practices
  • Experience with inventory systems and scheduling
  • Proven leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime if required
  • Proficient in basic computer applications (Excel, scheduling systems, inventory software)

Physical & Work Requirements

  • Ability to work in a warehouse or industrial environment
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to [XX] lbs as required
  • Exposure to noise, machinery, and varying temperatures
