Job Purpose 


As a Dentist at SMCHC, you’ll provide primary dental care—and in select cases, secondary care—in a community health center setting. Your role will include preventive services, patient education, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to improve oral health outcomes across our region. 


Minimum Qualifications 


  • Graduate of an accredited dental school
  • Licensed to practice dentistry in the State of Missouri
  • Current BLS certification
  • DEA and Missouri BNDD registrations
  • Proficient in EMR, electronic mail, word processing, and office management software
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with patients, staff, and community partners
  • Deep understanding of modern dentistry in public health settings
  • Awareness of socioeconomic and legislative factors affecting public health
  • Collaborative spirit with a commitment to professional development and team growth
  • Knowledge of public health principles and practices
Key Responsibilities

Delivery of Dental Care
  • Diagnose and treat dental/oral conditions
  • Maintain accurate and complete patient records
  • Educate patients on oral health and disease prevention
Management of Dental Staff
  • Support continuing education and training for SMCHC staff
Administrative Duties
  • Participate in clinic committees and strategic planning
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and protocols
  • Represent SMCHC at meetings and events
  • Contribute to recruitment and retention efforts
Community Outreach
  •  Provide technical assistance and health education
  • Attend community meetings and represent the dental clinic
Reliability
  •  Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality
  • Uphold company policies and foster positive workplace relationships
  • Complete tasks efficiently and professionally
