What You'll Do
As a Patient Service Representative, you will be responsible for creating a positive patient experience while supporting the daily operations of our dental practice.
Patient Experience & Scheduling
- Greet and check in patients with professionalism and warmth
- Verify and update patient demographics and insurance information
- Assist patients with completing required forms and documentation
- Schedule, reschedule, confirm, and cancel appointments
- Coordinate follow-up visits and patient reminders
- Help maintain efficient patient flow and appointment schedules
Front Office Administration
- Maintain accurate electronic dental records (EDR)
- Answer incoming phone calls and respond to patient inquiries
- Manage document scanning, filing, faxing, and record organization
- Maintain front office supplies and place orders as needed
- Ensure reception and patient areas remain clean, organized, and welcoming
Insurance & Financial Coordination
- Collect patient payments and discuss financial arrangements
- Explain insurance co-pays, deductibles, and balances due
- Submit and track dental insurance claims
- Manage accounts receivable and assist with collections efforts
- Enter payment information accurately into patient ledgers
- Answer billing and insurance-related questions
Practice Support
- Resolve patient concerns and escalate issues when appropriate
- Support patient referral and marketing initiatives
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality
- Participate in office emergency procedures as required
- Manage petty cash and other administrative duties
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Previous dental office experience preferred
- Knowledge of dental terminology and CDT codes
- Understanding of dental insurance verification, billing, and claims processing
- Strong customer service and relationship-building skills
- Excellent verbal, written, and telephone communication abilities
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer applications
