Key Responsibilities
- Manage patient appointment scheduling, cancellations, and rescheduling with accuracy and professionalism
- Conduct proactive patient outreach to remind patients of upcoming appointments and follow up on missed visits
- Answer and route multiple telephone lines efficiently, documenting messages accurately and ensuring timely follow-up
- Welcome and check in patients, ensuring complete and accurate registration documentation
- Verify insurance coverage and patient demographics; identify patients who qualify for financial assistance programs and Sliding Fee Discounts
- Process patient checkout, document follow-up appointments, and maintain organized medical records
- Collect co-payments and process cash transactions with accuracy and integrity
- Handle copying, faxing, and other administrative duties to support smooth office operations
- Collaborate with team members on special projects and contribute to team meetings
Required Qualifications
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (required)
- Minimum of 3 years of dental office experience
- Working knowledge of dental procedures and terminology
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Proficiency with computer systems, including Microsoft Office and dental management software (such as Athena Health)
- Professional demeanor with a positive attitude and strong team collaboration skills
- High school diploma or GED
Preferred Qualifications
- Texas Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) License
- Nitrous oxide sedation monitoring certification
