Job Responsibilities

As our Insurance Coordinator, you will own the end-to-end insurance process to ensure clear transparency for our patients and seamless revenue flow for our Fee-For-Service practice. Core duties include:

  • Insurance Verification: Pre-verifying out-of-network and FFS dental insurance benefits prior to patient appointments.

  • Claims Management: Submitting comprehensive dental insurance claims quickly and accurately; including digital X-rays, narrative attachments, and intra-oral images.

  • Accounts Receivable & Appeals: Monitoring outstanding insurance aging reports, tracking unpaid claims, and aggressively appealing denials.

  • Patient Financial Consulting: Explicitly detailing out-of-pocket costs and explaining out-of-network breakdowns to patients with clarity and empathy.

  • Front Office Support: Collaborating with the New Patient and Schedule Coordinators to maintain an efficient front desk workflow.


Required & Preferred Qualifications

Required:

  • Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of experience managing dental insurance processing, billing, or claims allocation.

  • Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of dental codes (CDT codes), insurance terminology, and how out-of-network/FFS reimbursement operates.

  • Traits: Exceptional communication skills, strict attention to detail, and a warm, professional phone presence.

Preferred:

  • Software: Proficiency with dental practice management software (e.g., Dentrix, Dentech, or similar platforms).

  • Background: Previous experience handling high-volume claims in a boutique or private practice setting.
