Renton Technical College is seeking a Dental Hygienist to join our Dental Clinic! This is a part-time position reporting to the Dean of Health & Human Services and the Dental Assistant Program Director. The Registered Dental Hygienist will support numerous students and patients from all backgrounds, while performing dental hygiene duties in the RTC dental clinic. This position has opportunities during spring quarter on Mondays and Wednesdays starting April 13th to June 15th, and summer quarter on Wednesdays starting July 15th to August 12th. The dental clinic will schedule a maximum of 6 hygiene patients per day beginning promptly at 8:00am. The hourly rate is $65.00 - $75.00 per hour. This position will remain open until filled.

Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions Include
- Communicate professionally and effectively, both orally and in writing, with college employees, departments and outside agencies.
- Provide preventive and therapeutic dental hygiene services to patients in the RTC Dental Clinic.
- Administer local anesthetic under direction of clinic dentist.
- Deliver patient education including pre- & post-operative instructions.
- Provide instruction, support and mentorship to dental assistant students in the RTC Dental Clinic during a variety of clinical procedures including but not limited to exams wiht DDS/DMD, oral health screenings and assessment, prophylaxis, SRP, digital radiographs, and dental charting.
- Communicate with clinic Dentist and students regarding patient treatment and recommendations.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with school and regulatory standards.
- Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
- Perform other related assignments as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Experience with persons from diverse backgrounds such as sexual orientation, racial, ethnic, religious, linguistic, gender, age, socio-economic, physical and learning abilities, and a commitment to an inclusive and equitable working / learning environment.
- Current Registered Dental Hygienist License in Washington State.
- Current AHA, BLS Certification
- Dentrix knowledge preferred
- 5 years of clinical experience as a Registered Dental Hygienist
- Current Hepatitis vaccinations and/or positive titer.
- Ability to represent the college in a positive and professional manner, while using tact, discretion and courtesy.
- Ability to speak a regionally top spoken language other than English is preferred (Spanish, Vietnamese, Russian, Somali, and Chinese).
WORKING CONDITIONS:This position has opportunities during spring quarter on Mondays and Wednesdays starting April 13th to June 15th, and summer quarter on Wednesdays starting July 15th to August 12th. The dental clinic will schedule a maximum of 6 hygiene patients per day beginning promptly at 8:00am. Work is mostly sedentary in nature, performed in the dental clinic environment. Frequent use of a computer and exposure to terminal screens is required. This position is an in-person/on-campus position.
