The Dental Clinic Manager will perform the management of dental practice and patient services in the dental department. This includes supervision of patient services representatives in coordination with the director of patient experience and direct supervision of dental assistants. The Dental Clinic manager will be responsible for facilities management of clinical practices, supply maintenance and ordering, employee performance evaluation, operational quality improvement and internal and external regulatory requirements. The Dental Clinic Manager is expected to work in collaboration with the clinic leadership to make recommendations to improve the clinical, operational and financial performance of the department.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS

1.Evaluates the quality and effectiveness of the dental practice operations in collaboration with the Department Chair to improve services and patient outcomes in the Dental Department.
2. Collaborates with Clinic Director and/or Department Chair to support and coordinate the provision/management of patient flow and care delivery.
3. Coordinates and monitors the provision of safe, effective clinical support practice which meets the needs of patients and their families.
4. Communicates effective conflict and problem resolution to support a cohesive multidisciplinary team.
5. Identifies learning needs of dental assistants and works collaboration with clinic director and/or Department Chair in developing plans for individual associates and/or department as warranted.
6. Maintains clinical knowledge, competence and demonstrates leadership thru professional development.
7. Supervises and evaluates clinical support staff including, but not exclusive to, annual performance reviews, employment actions, training, and scheduling.
8. Ensures the Implementation and administration of policies and procedures of the dental department and the health center. Meets documentation and reporting deadlines as directed.
9. Manages inventory of clinic supplies, including ordering, verifying supplies received following established protocols.
10. Periodically evaluates patient satisfaction in coordination with the clinic director. Responds to and addresses all patients’ complaints in collaboration with the Department Chair swiftly within established health center guidelines. Responsible for initiating plans of corrective action to prevent recurrence, working to maintain patient satisfaction.
11. Establishes processes and systems to monitor, prevent, and eliminate clinical risk exposure in Dental Department. Promotes and ensures infection control standards are maintained.
12. Leads and encourages continuous quality improvement activities within Dental Services.
13. Performs all duties that any other dental auxiliary is authorized to perform, i.e. charting, taking and processing radiographs and performs expanded functions approved by state law.
14. Other duties as may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

1.Minimum of five years in the dental industry preferably in a general dental practice setting
2. One or more years of experience in management/leadership and clinic administration experience.
3. Knowledge of best practices in dental practice management including delivery of quality, comprehensive and efficient dental care.
4. Basic knowledge of dental supplies, and ordering/management of such supplies.
5. Proficient in the use of MS Office products and experience with Electronic Medical Record systems.
6. Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and emergency situations successfully
7. Supervisory skills that support team building, a positive work environment, and support of the organization’s mission.
