We are seeking an experienced Dental Assistant to support a busy Pediatric Dentistry clinic. This position serves as a lead assistant, working closely with dentists, residents, and dental students while helping ensure a positive experience for pediatric patients and their families.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide chairside assistance during exams, cleanings, restorations, endodontic, surgical, and emergency procedures
  • Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and supplies for daily patient care
  • Clean, sterilize, and maintain instruments and equipment in accordance with OSHA standards
  • Educate patients and parents/guardians on oral health and treatment plans
  • Coordinate patient flow, appointments, records, radiographs, and treatment documentation
  • Answer phones, schedule appointments, and assist with front desk coverage as needed
  • Monitor and maintain dental supply and instrument inventory
  • Support clinic operations to ensure efficient, high-quality patient care

Qualifications:

  • 1+ year of dental assisting experience
  • Dental Assistant Certification required
  • Current Radiology Certification required
  • Current CPR Certification required
  • Knowledge of dental instruments, materials, sterilization procedures, and infection control practices
  • Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills
  • Experience with dental software (Axium preferred)

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work in a clinical environment
  • Ability to lift up to 45 pounds
  • Hepatitis B vaccination and annual TB testing required

Preferred Experience:

  • Pediatric dentistry experience
  • Insurance verification and scheduling experience
  • Inventory management and supply ordering experience
