Position Title: Dental Assistant 

Department: Dentistry

Location: New York, NY 10016

Duration: 3 Months contract with strong possibility of extension

Schedule: 8:00 AM-4:30 PM

Job Summary: 

• Assists in providing dental services including: preparing patients for exam/treatment; sterilizing instruments, maintaining equipment, mixing amalgams, cements, composites, taking dental x-rays, maintaining records, performing assigned lab procedures.

• Required Education: 
• A four-year High School diploma or its educational equivalent, including or supplemented by a course of study consisting of at least 600 instructional hours at an approved school for Dental Assistants. 
• OR 
• A four year High School diploma or its educational equivalent, including or supplemented by a course of study consisting of at least 300 instructional hours at an approved school for Dental Assistants plus six (6) months full-time satisfactory experience as a Dental Assistant performing all of the following duties: taking, developing, and mounting dental radiographs, assisting dentist at chairside, sterilizing dental instrument using autoclave. 
• OR 
• A four-year High School diploma or its educational equivalent plus one (1) year of full-time satisfactory experience as a Dental Assistant performing the duties described in the second requirement mentioned above. 
• OR 
• A satisfactory combination of education and experience which is equivalent to above mentioned requirements. However, all candidates must have at least a four-year High School diploma or GED. 
• Experience as a receptionist or clerk in a dentist's office is not acceptable towards meeting the qualification requirements.
