We are currently seeking a full-time Dental Assistant to join our team at Sumter Correctional Institution located in Bushnell, Florida.
Available Shift: 7:00am - 3:30pm; Monday-Friday schedule
The Dental Assistant works under the direct supervision of the Dentist and/or Dental Hygienist in chairside dentistry in a correctional setting.
Essential Duties:
• Preparing and sterilizing dental instruments • Preparing and maintaining the dental operatory • Operating radiographic equipment • Administrative tasks as needed
High School Diploma or GED Equivalent Required Completion of a Technical School Program in Dental Assisting or Six (6) Months of Experience as a Dental Assistant Required Dental Assistant License or Ability to Obtain One Required Certification and/or Previous Experience Performing Dental X-Rays Preferred Must Show/Obtain Current Purified Protein Derivative (PPD) Documentation for Tuberculosis Screening Must be Appropriately and Actively Certified in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Ability to Obtain a Security Clearance, to Include Drug Screen and Criminal Background Check Certification as an Expanded Duty Dental Assistant Preferred; if the candidate does not possess a current certificate, one must be obtained in the first year of employment
