Microsoft's Cloud business is expanding, and the Cloud Supply Chain (CSCP) organization is responsible for enabling the hardware infrastructure underlying this growth including AI! CSCP's vision is to empower customers to achieve more by delivering Cloud and AI capabilities at scale. Our mission is to deliver the worlds computer with an industry-leading supply chain. The CSCP organization is responsible for traditional supply chain functions such as plan, source, make, deliver, but also manages supportability (spares), sustainability, and decommissioning of datacenter assets worldwide. We deliver the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsofts over 200 online businesses including Bing, MSN, Office 365, Xbox Live, OneDrive and the Microsoft Azure platform for external customers. Our infrastructure is supported by more than 300 datacenters around the world that enable services for more than 1 billion customers in over 90 countries.
Microsoft Cloud Planning (MCP) is the central planning function within CSCP focused on forecasting, demand planning, and supply planning for all Microsoft Cloud services and associated hardware, directly impacting the success of Microsofts cloud business. We are looking for a Demand Planner - Network Hardware to join our team.

Responsibilities
- Own long range demand planning for a defined portfolio of cloud infrastructure, developing rolling multi-quarter and multi-year forecasts that support business growth and capacity investment decisions.
- Synthesize demand signals from engineering, architecture teams, finance, sales, and regional stakeholders to build robust planning assumptions and scenarios.
- Translate strategic business changes, technology transitions, silicon roadmaps, launch plans, and macro trends into forward-looking demand outlooks and risk assessments.
- Build and maintain forecasting models using historical data, assumptions, and scenario drivers
- Drive planning reviews and alignment forums with cross-functional partners, ensuring assumptions, gaps, risks, and tradeoffs are clearly understood.
- Partner with supply planning, sourcing, engineering, and finance teams to connect long range demand plans to capacity, supply and technology readiness, and financial implications.
- Develop scenario analysis to evaluate upside, downside, and timing shifts, and provide decision support for prioritization and investment choices.
- Monitor forecast quality and key planning metrics, explain changes over time, and continuously improve planning logic, tools, and processes.
- Use data, systems, and automation to improve planning efficiency, insight generation, and management reporting.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Supply Chain, Information Technology (IT), Business, Operations, Finance, Accounting, Data Science, or related field AND 8+ years supply chain, inventory management or sales operations experience, preferably in planning (demand/supply/forecasting), cloud industry experience, infrastructure, data science, and/or channel management experience
- OR equivalent experience.
Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred qualifications:
- 3+ years working experience in Cloud/Hyperscale Infrastructure Supply Chain
- Demonstrated ability to translate next-generation networking concepts into supply chain planning requirements and execution strategies.
- Experience with statistical forecasting, scenario modeling, and demand signal translation across long planning horizons.
- Proficiency with planning systems, data tools, and spreadsheet-based modeling.
- Ability to understand technical roadmaps/technology transitions working with engineering partners.
- Experience building management dashboards, KPI reporting, or automated planning insights.
- Ability to influence across organizational boundaries and lead alignment in highly matrixed environments.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills, intellectual curiosity, and a continuous improvement mindset.

There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $165,600.00 - $303,600.00 per year.
