We are looking for a Lead Baker to assist the Department Manager in ensuring the successful operation of in-house and exterior Bakery functions.  Works with DM to accomplish the Co+op’s goals for the Bakery department around the production and safe handling of food, maintaining department cleanliness, and providing excellent customer service to customers/ members, co-workers, and vendors.


What You'll Do


·         Bake goods to specifications for consistent quality.


·         Make improvements to or develop new recipes.


·         Maintains quick pace, adjusts pace to volume, plans, moves quickly from one task to the next, takes initiative to find projects when tasks are completed.


·         Records sales, shrink, transfers, and ensures they are accurate and updated timely.


·         Provide excellent customer service.


·         Maintain working knowledge of items being carried by the department, anticipating seasonal changes.


·         Receive product deliveries, ensure invoice accuracy, and maintain accurate department financials.


·         Stock, rotate, and prepare food according to department procedure.


·         Ensure department sanitation, cleanliness and safety standards are met.


·         Follow all Health Department regulations, monitor department to ensure food safety requirements are adhered to including hand washing, temping, food storage and employee health.


·         Assist in inventory process and procedures.


·         Ensure products are properly labeled with prices and dates.


·         Participate in team, staff, and other meetings as scheduled.


·         Performs other duties as assigned.


 


Who We're Looking For:



  • Food Service/ Baking Experience: Experience in Food Service setting including perishable products inventory management. 
  • Customer Service: Experience providing prompt and respectful customer service, going "above and beyond" to delight customers.
  • Safety: Demonstrated knowledge and track record of meeting food and staff safety standards and following best practices
  • Process Management: Experience working with others to design and implement processes and/or systems, process evaluation and improvement.
  • Communication: Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with customers and staff in a responsive and caring manner
  • Conflict Management: Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict respectfully, effectively, and fairly.
  • "Can-Do-Attitude": Demonstrates a positive, adaptable, and flexible attitude with a strong commitment to being a team player.
  • Basic Math: Ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Reliable: Must be punctual and able to follow through with given tasks..
  • Sense of Urgency: Ability to complete assigned tasks in a fast-paced environment with self-direction and motivation.
Schedule: Shifts may vary, and can include day, evening, and holiday hours to meet department needs. Flexibility required.

Physical and Working Requirements:


This position requires frequent standing as well as walking, kneeling, squatting, bending, reaching, stooping, pulling, fine motor manipulation, climbing (ladders), lifting of up to 50 lbs. consistently/60 lbs. occasionally, the ability to work on a point of sale system, move around our store and storage rooms and work in varying temperature conditions and spend long periods of time in a cooler, and efficiently travel between locations, with or without reasonable accommodation.
