Full job description:
We are seeking a results-driven Deburr Department Manager to lead our finishing department of 3-5 employees. This role ensures that our precision machined parts meet the highest quality standards before they reach our customers. You will oversee and train a small group of individuals.
The Opportunity:
As the Deburr Department Manager, you will oversee a small team of finishers and in surface preparation and final inspection. You will be responsible for transforming raw, machined parts into burr-free, high-precision products. You will oversee the department but will also be a key worker within it.
Responsibilities include:
- Precision Finishing: Use hand tools, pneumatic grinders, and specialized machinery to remove burrs and sharp edges from metal and plastic components.
- Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and train the deburring team to ensure adherence to safety, quality, and production standards
- Process Optimization: Develop and implement effective deburring methodologies, including hand-finishing and automated machine processes, to improve productivity and reduce cycle times.
Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory or lead role specifically within a deburr or metal finishing environment.
Education:
- High school or equivalent (Preferred).
Technical Proficiency:
- Expert knowledge of deburring tools (hand files, grinders, sanders) and specialized equipment (tumblers, bead blasters, laser engraver).
Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving abilities, exceptional attention to detail, and the communication skills necessary to lead a team in a fast-paced environment.
