Deal Processor / Automotive Accounting Clerk

We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Deal Processor / Automotive Accounting Clerk to join our accounting team. This position plays a critical role in ensuring vehicle deals are processed accurately, sales transactions are posted timely, and dealership accounting records remain organized and compliant.

Essential Duties:
- Review sales documents such as sales contracts, customer credit applications, odometer forms, bills of sale, reports of sale, and powers of attorney to ensure completeness and legibility.
- Posts all vehicle sales to accounting after verifying accuracy.
- Review and reconcile all factory statements monthly, including factory reserves
- Post-contract fundings
- Receive authorization from proper management for any write-offs or adjustments to cost or expense accounts.
- Reconcile all schedules pertaining to vehicle accounting weekly and confirm that they are reconciled at the end of the month.
Qualifications:
- 1 to 3 years of accounting experience preferred, candidates without accounting experience will be considered based on work experience or education
- Must speak clearly on the telephone and convey an image of professionalism and competence to callers.
- Basic mathematical aptitude.
- Must be able to lift computer paper boxes to refill printer (approximately 10-20 lbs).
- Self-motivated, organized, and able to effectively prioritize tasks and organize schedules.
- Knowledge of bookkeeping procedures.
- Ability to work in a constantly busy atmosphere.
- Ability to be versatile in working with changing priorities of position responsibilities.
- Ability to make evaluations, reach conclusions, and solve problems based on subjective or objective information, knowledge, and experience.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Professional personal appearance.
- Will be trained on the dealership’s DMS.
- Climb the steps upstairs to get to the accounting office.
Physical & Working Requirements
- Primarily office and desk-based work environment
- Ability to sit for extended periods while using a computer and phone
- Occasional walking, reaching, lifting, and carrying items up to 20 lbs. (such as office or printer supplies)
- Ability to climb stairs to access the accounting office
- Specific vision abilities include close vision and the ability to adjust focus
Compensation
- Starting pay from $19.00/hour, based on experience
- Non-exempt, full-time position eligible for overtime
