Little Lambs Daycare in Tilden is looking for a director candidate to provide spiritual, administrative, and educational leadership for the daycare program. This role requires the ability to balance office responsibilities with active, hands-on support in classrooms, while fostering a nurturing, Christ-centered environment for children, families, and staff. Chosen candidates will be joining a center filled with wonderful and supportive families as well as a unified staff there to provide a loving environment for the children in their care.

Key Responsibilities

• Spiritual Leadership Model Christ-like character in all interactions with children, families, and staff Ensure the daycare's mission, values, and daily practices reflect Christian principles Support age-appropriate faith development through prayer, Bible stories, and Christian values

• Administrative & Organizational Duties Manage daily operations of the daycare, including scheduling, billing, enrollment, and documentation Complete and maintain required paperwork, licensing records, and compliance with state regulations, in addition to writing grants to benefit the daycare center as a whole Oversee budgeting, supplies, and facility needs in coordination with church leadership Maintain accurate records related to attendance, staff files, incident reports, and child documentation

• Classroom Support & Oversight Provide direct support in classrooms as needed, including stepping in to assist or cover ratios Observe classrooms regularly to ensure high-quality care, safety, and developmentally appropriate practices Support teachers with curriculum implementation, classroom management, and child development needs Ensure classrooms maintain a warm, safe, and structured learning environment

• Staff Management & Leadership Hire, train, mentor, and evaluate daycare staff Create and manage staff schedules to ensure appropriate coverage and ratios Foster a positive, supportive, and team-oriented work environment amongst staff, families and board members Address staff concerns, conflicts, and performance issues with professionalism and grace Encourage professional growth and accountability among team members

• Parent & Family Relationships Serve as a primary point of contact for parents and guardians Communicate clearly and compassionately regarding policies, child progress, and concerns Handle parent questions or issues in a respectful, timely, and solution-focused manner Build strong, trusting relationships with families and promote open communication

• Time Management & Multi-Tasking Effectively prioritize responsibilities between administrative duties and classroom needs Adapt quickly to changing daily demands and unexpected situations Maintain organization and productivity in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

Strong Christian faith and alignment with the mission of the daycare and church Beneficial to have previous experience in early childhood education, childcare administration, or leadership Knowledge of state childcare licensing requirements Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills Ability to work both independently and collaboratively Physical ability to engage with young children in classroom settings

Preferred Qualifications

Degree or coursework in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field Previous experience as a daycare director, assistant director, or lead teacher

Work Environment This position involves both office work and active classroom participation, including standing, walking, lifting children, and interacting with staff and families throughout the day.

Additional Information Anticipated Salary of $45,000-$50,000 depending on experience, education and qualifications Insurance options/stipend available. Start Date: February 23, 2026 or as soon as hired
