Database Architect 2 Newport News, VA Contract: $36.51-$44.96/hr
Designs, models, documents, and guides the logical and conceptual relationship of data and database changes for complex applications. Analyzes needs and requirements of existing and proposed systems, and develops technical, structural, and organizational specifications. May create standards and/or modeling to monitor and enhance capacity and performance. This position is intended to support the database development team in the Coatings Technology and Materials Engineering Department E33.
Candidates must be able to work well with all types of different people in various positions, both within the coatings commodity and various other commodities like welding and NDT to develop software that provides integrated solutions and streamlines disconnected processes and tools. Additionally, the candidate must be able to perform the following:
• Regular communication with direct management on progress • Utilize customer input to improve deliverables • Instruction and requirements development • Agile project management
Preferred Qualifications: Database Architect 2 • Proficient with SQL, Excel, Access, Microsoft Visual Studio • Data Analytics background/thinking • Exposure to experience with Teamcenter and SAP, or similar programs • Experience with surface preparation and coatings is desired • Shipbuilding experience is desired
Basic Qualifications: Database Architect 2 • Bachelors Degree and 2 years of experience • Masters Degree and 0 years of experience • 4 years of related exempt experience can be substituted for Bachelors degree • 8 years of non-related exempt experience can be substituted for Bachelors degree
