CTG is seeking a highly skilled Data Visualization Analyst Senior to design and deliver advanced dashboards, reports, and data visualizations that drive strategic business decisions. This role combines expertise in Power BI, SQL, business intelligence, data storytelling, and visualization best practices to transform complex data into actionable insights. The ideal candidate will also mentor junior team members and help establish visualization standards across the organization.

 

Location: Buffalo, NY
Duration: 12 months

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain advanced dashboards, reports, and visualizations using Power BI and other BI tools.
  • Create descriptive, diagnostic, and predictive reporting solutions that uncover trends, opportunities, and business insights.
  • Develop and maintain dashboard standards, templates, themes, and visualization best practices.
  • Apply data storytelling techniques and visual design principles to communicate complex information effectively.
  • Build advanced calculations, data flows, and data models to support reporting requirements.
  • Utilize SQL to analyze, extract, transform, and prepare data for visualization.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements, validate results, and refine reporting solutions.
  • Implement best practices for report publishing, security, permissions management, and usage monitoring.
  • Mentor and support junior visualization team members on dashboard design and reporting standards.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational risk, governance, and regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of related experience; or a combination of education and experience totaling at least 9 years, including 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience designing and developing advanced dashboards, reports, and visualizations.
  • Expert knowledge of data visualization concepts, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Experience using SQL to analyze, extract, and transform data.
  • Hands-on experience with at least one enterprise BI platform, preferably Power BI.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, metadata, and data quality principles.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with multiple data visualization platforms.
  • Knowledge of data management concepts and terminology.
  • Certifications in Power BI, data visualization, or data storytelling.
  • Experience in predictive analytics and advanced reporting environments.

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
