    General Job Information

    Job Summary

    This position is located in the District of Columbia Government Department of Licensing and Consumer Protection, Office of Information Systems. DLCP protects the health, safety, economic interests and quality of life of residents, businesses and visitors in the District of Columbia by ensuring code compliance and regulating business. DLCP is responsible for regulating business activity in the District of Columbia. The agency protects consumers, issues business and professional licenses, registers corporations, inspects weighing and measuring devices used for monetary profit, and issues special events permit.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Develop computational algorithms and statistical methods to find patterns and relationships in multiple database sources. Develops scripts, queries, or software code to accomplish specific requirements or tasks. Designs, builds, and tests data models, algorithms, and predictive models. Identifies and utilizes predictive modeling and machine learning techniques to improve program and operational processes and agency''s overall data quality. Manipulates, manages, queries, analyzes, and summarizes data from open source, law enforcement, District, and DLCP data sources into cohesive reports in support of strategic initiatives, program evaluations and investigations. Data may come in the form of a database, spreadsheet, official records, emails, and other formats.

    Compiles and performs analyses on a variety of datasets from various sources to provide informed and data-driven insights leading to process and operational recommendations for DLCP and its stakeholders. Develops correlations, models, algorithms, forecasts, and visualizations based on generally accepted statistical methods using data from both DLCP systems and external sources.

    Qualifications and Education

    SELECTIVE FACTOR: Experience using MicroSoft Excel in the data analysis process.

    Individuals must possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression.
