Position Overview
A mission-focused organization supporting national defense and advanced technology initiatives is seeking an experienced Data Scientist to support electromagnetic spectrum operations (EMSO) and data-driven mission capabilities. This role will focus on data analytics, machine learning, data integration, and model development to improve the quality, accessibility, and operational value of complex electromagnetic spectrum (EMS) datasets.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead efforts to assess, refine, and validate EMS-related data repositories by identifying gaps, resolving inconsistencies, and improving data quality.
  • Organize and maintain EMS data structures that connect unit, platform, and equipment-level parameters for operational use.
  • Develop and document data integration, validation, and gap-analysis methodologies in accordance with applicable Department of Defense data governance requirements.
  • Create and support machine-readable data export capabilities, including JSON and API-based solutions.
  • Design, develop, and validate dynamic software models representing EMS systems in both geospatial and non-geospatial environments.
  • Produce technical documentation covering data sources, modeling approaches, validation procedures, and integration activities.
  • Partner with engineers, analysts, and subject matter experts to ensure solutions align with mission objectives and operational requirements.
  • Support the development of advanced analytics and data-driven decision-making capabilities.
Required Qualifications
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in data science, analytics, or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working with software development methodologies and lifecycle processes.
  • Strong proficiency in Python, R, SQL, or similar programming languages.
  • Experience with statistical analysis, machine learning techniques, and large-scale data processing.
  • Proven ability to develop data models and integrate data from multiple sources.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with electromagnetic spectrum data or electronic warfare-related systems.
  • Knowledge of Department of Defense data governance standards and security requirements, including DoDI 8320.02.
  • Previous experience supporting military, defense, or government customers.
  • Familiarity with geospatial and non-geospatial modeling environments.
