Job Description
To ensure that Visa’s payment technology is truly available to everyone, everywhere requires the success of our key bank or merchant partners and internal business units. The Global Data Science group supports these partners by using our extraordinarily rich data set that spans more than 3 billion cards globally and captures more than 100 billion transactions in a single year. Our focus lies on building creative solutions that have an immediate impact on the business of our highly analytical partners. We work in complementary teams comprising members from Data Science and various groups at Visa. To support our rapidly growing group we are looking for Data Scientists who are equally passionate about the opportunity to use Visa’s rich data to tackle meaningful business problems. You will join one of the Data Science focus areas (e.g., banks, merchants & retailers, digital products, marketing) with an opportunity for rotation within Data Science to gain broad exposure to Visa’s business.
The role is based in Foster City, CA.

Basic Qualifications • 2 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD, or PhD) Preferred Qualifications • 3 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or more than 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) • MS or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Econometrics, Operations Research, or a related quantitative discipline • 2+ years of relevant industry experience in Data Science, Applied Machine Learning, or Advanced Analytics • Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL, with hands‑on experience leveraging big‑data technologies for large‑scale data processing • Experience using BI and data‑visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker) to build dashboards, conduct exploratory analysis, and communicate insights to business stakeholders • Deep experience designing, building, and optimizing large‑scale data pipelines, including ingestion, transformation, aggregation, feature engineering, and performance tuning with cost optimization in Hive and Spark, as well as developing reusable analytical tools used across teams • Hands‑on experience building, validating, and deploying machine‑learning models at scale (e.g., risk, fraud, authorization, customer behavior, or network analytics) • Knowledge of causal inference and experimentation, including A/B testing, Difference‑in‑Differences, and uplift modeling • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, translating complex analytical results into clear, actionable insights and influencing senior leaders across business teams

The estimated salary range for this position is $137,400.00 to $ 212,500.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
