Why This Role Exists
The work we do has real impact, and the people behind it matter just as much.

D&G is seeking a Data Scientist to support USSTRATCOM/J7 assessments across campaign, risk, operations, and Joint Force evaluation areas. This role enables campaign, risk, operations, and Joint Force assessments by integrating disparate data sources, applying predictive and statistical modeling, and producing high‑quality analytic products that inform senior‑leader decision‑making. The Data Scientist builds scalable data pipelines, enhances assessment tools, and supports AI/ML‑enabled decision analytics consistent with command priorities.

What You Will Do
  • Integrate, analyze, and evaluate diplomatic, informational, military, and economic data to assess progress toward strategic deterrence and operational objectives.
  • Develop and refine measurement criteria (MOEs/MOPs), scoring standards, and defensible assessment logic for formal reporting.
  • Build structured, secure, scalable data systems and develop automated monitoring pipelines for intelligence, OSINT, diplomatic, and after‑action data.
  • Apply advanced statistical methods and machine‑learning models to identify patterns, forecast outcomes, and uncover new trends.
  • Develop dashboards, visualization tools, GUIs, and connectors that enhance decision‑making and improve assessment workflows.
  • Produce graduate‑level written analyses, executive briefings, and clear, actionable reports for senior leaders.
  • Support operations, campaign, risk, and Joint Force assessments by synthesizing trends, evaluating OAI (operations, activities, investments), and identifying cost‑benefit impacts.
  • Utilize AI/ML tools—including LLM text analytics—to augment analytic depth and accelerate assessment processes.
  • Participate in boards, bureaus, centers, cells, and working groups as an analytic subject‑matter expert.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of assessment tools, models, and methodologies.
  • Other duties assigned by Program Manager

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in data science, computer science, statistics, applied mathematics, applied physics, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 7+ years of combined experience in data science, visualization, and database work.
  • Expertise in:
  • AI/ML modeling and statistical analysis
  • LLM usage and text analytics
  • Python for automation and data processing
  • SQL and relational schema design
  • Visualization using Tableau/Power BI
  • Integration with commercial AI/ML platforms (Maven Smart Systems, Databricks, AWS SageMaker)
  • Familiarity with API/RSS data ingestion and Agile team collaboration.
Clearance and Eligibility
  • Active TS/SCI clearance required.
  • This role is restricted to U.S. person(s) (U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)).
