The Data Governance Foundation Group Manager manages a team of professionals and is accountable for management of Enterprise Data Governance Strategy, and/or Data Risk and Control Framework and Data Risk Taxonomy.
This role requires excellent communication skills needed to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. Accountable for significant direct business results or authoritative advice regarding the operations of the business. Responsible for handling staff management issues, including resource management and allocation of work within the team/project.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Data Leadership: Drive the day-to-day execution and adoption of Citi's Data Transformation Plan, guiding data initiatives from concept to implementation.
Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as a trusted subject matter expert within Banking, specifically Wholesale Lending for planning and analysis of project deliverables and processes, liaising with multiple teams.
Strong knowledge in the following areas:
Accounting/Financial Reporting
Regulatory Reporting (e.g. Capital, Liquidity, etc.)
Trade Lifecycle
Credit Agreements & Facility
Stakeholder Collaboration: Build and nurture strong relationships with key stakeholders across the organization, facilitating seamless execution through effective meetings and communication.
Project & Risk Management: Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues, proposing innovative solutions and ensuring timely delivery of complex data projects.
Data Governance & Quality Assurance: Champion data quality, lineage, and governance frameworks, independently conducting analyses to develop robust business requirements, manage data issues, and define data quality rules.
Data Analysis - Analyze banking and financial data (deposits, credit/debit cards, payments, etc). Write complex SQL queries, profile data, and support data modeling. Collaborate with SMEs, Data Architects, Product Owners, and technical teams to deliver data-driven solutions
Manages multiple teams or a functional area, while maintaining appropriate staffing requirements to meet operational needs
Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of the program / project and associated dependencies
Oversee data governance and/or Data Risk and Controls and work closely with business/functions to ensure practices are embedded throughout the enterprise
Ownership of policy adoption plans, compliance metrics, communication and training
Ownership of delivery and ultimate closure of corrective action plans completely, accurately and on time
Coordination with other regional Chief Data Office (CDO) teams to ensure consistent treatment of findings, corrective actions plans and response to 2nd/3rd line of defense reviews
Leads reengineering efforts in business's methodology, strategy, and organizational goals
Provides advice and counsel related to the technology or operations of the business
Produces recommendations for enterprise-wide guiding principles, policies, processes and practices
Determines requirements for and prioritize development of new enterprise-wide principles, policies, processes and practices as needed
