Hours: Mon - Fri 8:30am to 4:30pm
Pay Rate Range: $22-$25/hour based on experience
Position Summary
The Data Entry Clerk provides administrative and clerical support to the Engineering Department by maintaining accurate records, processing data, preparing reports, and assisting with departmental administrative functions. This position is responsible for entering and maintaining information in electronic systems, supporting engineering staff with documentation and reporting needs, and coordinating routine office activities to ensure efficient departmental operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform accurate and timely data entry of engineering, operational, and administrative information into department databases and tracking systems.
- Assist engineering staff by compiling, organizing, and preparing reports, spreadsheets, and other documentation.
- Create and process purchase requests for engineering supplies, equipment, and related materials.
- Maintain and manage department forms, records, and filing systems, including both electronic and paper files.
- Provide telephone support by answering calls, directing inquiries, and relaying messages as appropriate.
- Draft, edit, and distribute correspondence, memoranda, and other routine communications.
- Prepare, record, and distribute staff meeting agendas and meeting minutes.
- Order and maintain office supplies and ensure adequate inventory levels.
- Assist with document management, record retention, and departmental administrative projects.
- Support special assignments and other clerical duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in data entry, clerical support, administrative assistance, or a related field preferred.
- Some knowledge of, experience with, or exposure to engineering environments or technical operations preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, or equivalent software applications.
- Strong data entry skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
Working Conditions
- Primarily office-based environment.
- Frequent use of computers, telephones, and other standard office equipment.
- May require extended periods of sitting, data entry, and document processing
