Data Engineer

Global Financial Firm located in Tampa, FL and JC, NJ has an immediate contract opportunity for an experienced Data Engineer

Pay Rate: $70.00 - $85.00 Negotiable based upon years of experience

• Location: Tampa, FL and JC, NJ

Responsibilities:

• Hands-on data model design in SQL and NoSQL databases, design and code on the stored procedure to implement business knowledge.
• Improve data quality and communicate with global business for support.
• Deliver high-quality work consistently meeting requirements and standards, and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
• Involve in or perform system/component design & implementation with counterparts in New York, London, and other locations.
• Communicate with global development teams for requirements and technical details.
• Take ownership to resolve difficult issues, even when not clearly within own area of responsibility.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or related majors.
• Must be familiar with Oracle Database (P-SQL) or MS SQL Server (T-SQL).
• Experience in programming stored procedures for script coding.
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases like Elasticsearch or MongoDB.
• Knowledge of database performance tuning processes and approaches.
• Familiarity with ETL tools for data mining and analytics.
• Experience in big data platforms.
• Experience in Linux command lines.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in Gen-AI training is a plus.
• Financial knowledge or background is a plus.
