This is a 5-day onsite role in Pittsburgh, PA.
About The Role We are seeking a Data Engineer to support and scale our enterprise data platform, with a focus on enabling next-generation AI and analytics capabilities. This role is critical in building and maintaining high-quality, governed data pipelines that serve as the foundation for advanced analytics and emerging Agentic AI use cases. The ideal candidate brings strong experience in AWS-based data architectures, a solid understanding of data governance principles, and a forward-looking mindset toward AI-driven data systems.
Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines across Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers within a lakehouse architecture
Develop and optimize ETL/ELT processes using AWS services (Glue, S3, Athena, etc.)
Ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability across all stages of the data lifecycle
Implement and enforce data governance standards, including cataloging, lineage, and access controls
Collaborate with analytics, product, and engineering teams to deliver high-quality data products
Support and enable AI/ML and Agentic AI workflows by providing clean, well-structured, and accessible datasets
Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline performance and failures
Contribute to architectural decisions and continuous improvement of the data platform

Successfully onboard and take ownership of key data pipelines within the medallion architecture
Deliver measurable improvements in pipeline performance, reliability, or cost efficiency
Implement or enhance at least one data governance capability (e.g., lineage tracking, tagging, or access controls)
Contribute to enabling at least one AI/analytics use case by delivering clean, production-ready datasets
Qualifications
3+ years of experience in data engineering or related field
Hands-on experience with AWS data services (Glue, S3, Athena, IAM, Lake Formation preferred)
Strong proficiency in Python and SQL for data transformation and pipeline development
Understanding of data governance concepts including cataloging, lineage, and access control
Familiarity or interest in AI/ML workflows, with exposure to Agentic AI concepts considered a strong plus
