- Experience: Typically, 1–3 years of experience in data engineering or a highly technical data analytics role
- Technical Core: Proficiency in SQL and Python (specifically for data manipulation and transformation) is required
- Ecosystem Knowledge: Experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, Snowflake, or Databricks)
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- The "Ingenuity" Factor: Demonstrated ability to self-teach new technologies and a proactive approach to solving technical hurdles with lean, sustainable solutions
Functions and Responsibilities:
- Infrastructure Maintenance: Manage and monitor the existing Microsoft Fabric environment, ensuring high availability and performance of the data ecosystem
- Pipeline Engineering: Develop and maintain end-to-end ETL/ELT flows (using Data Factory, Notebooks, and Lakehouses) to ensure data is accurate, timely, and analysis ready
- Incremental Scaling: Collaboratively design and implement enhancements to the data infrastructure, focusing on creating affordable and maintainable solutions that meet evolving business needs
- Data Modeling: Partner with data analysts to structure and optimize datasets, ensuring they support strategic decision-making and business insights
- Documentation & Governance: Maintain clear documentation of data lineages and system workflows to ensure the infrastructure remains transparent and scalable for future team members
- Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities to streamline processes or reduce system complexity, applying ingenuity to deliver high-value results
