Akkodis is seeking a Data Engineer - Lead for a Contract with a client in Irvine, CA. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing POD‑level data engineering delivery, designing scalable pipelines, and driving performance optimization across Databricks and Spark platforms.
Rate Range: $60/Hour to $64/Hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Data Engineer - Lead Job Responsibilities include:
Lead POD‑level data engineering delivery, ensuring timely and high‑quality pipeline implementations.
Design and build scalable data pipelines using Databricks, Spark, PySpark, and SQL.
Drive performance tuning and optimization of data pipelines and workloads.
Provide technical leadership and guidance to data engineers, enforcing best practices.
Oversee issue resolution and continuous improvement across data engineering processes.
Collaborate with stakeholders to align data solutions with business and platform requirements.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Data Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
8-10 years of experience in data engineering roles with leadership responsibility.
Strong hands-on expertise in Databricks, Spark, PySpark, and SQL with proven experience designing and performance-tuning data pipelines.
Demonstrated ability to lead POD-level delivery, provide technical oversight, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure reliable, scalable data solutions.

Pay Details: $60.00 to $64.00 per hour
