Data Engineer - Hadoop

Introduction

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to build and maintain robust, fault-tolerant data pipelines and support data management and integration solutions. This role involves working with various data technologies and ensuring high performance and reliability of enterprise data systems.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with Hadoop-based technologies including MapReduce, Spark, Hive, Presto, and Pig
• Proficiency in SQL-based technologies such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MySQL
• Strong programming skills in Python or an equivalent high-level language
• Understanding of NoSQL technologies like Cassandra and MongoDB
• Experience in building distributed and cloud-based data pipelines
• Understanding of data warehousing solutions
• Strong customer service skills and ability to function in a fast-paced environment
• Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies
• Prior work experience at client or in client's industry

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Build and maintain data pipelines that collect, assemble, and transform data
• Design and implement scalable, reliable distributed data processing frameworks
• Implement data management, storage, backup, and recovery solutions
• Monitor data systems for performance and implement solutions to identified problems
• Lead the creation of standards and best practices for new technology solutions
• Ensure environments are compliant with standards and operational procedures
