Position available at Charleston Area Medical Center, Inc. in Charleston, WV. Responsible for the following duties: Provide high-level professional and technical skills in support of designing, building, and maintaining databases, and cloud platforms to support the needs of the CAMC Research team; Collaborate with an innovative team of people moving exciting projects forward and working to improve systems and processes along the way; Develop documentation, such as data dictionaries or guides that assists staff in identifying, locating, and using the organizations data; Build and maintain datasets and data marts; Create scripts and programs to automate data operations; Provide technical/consultative services to internal and external research partners, investigators, and other research personnel; Integrate and transform health-related data from a variety of sources and formats into analyzable formats for research; Primary accountability for project deliverables, ensuring quality outcomes and milestone completion; Keep abreast of current application developments through continuing education, professional reading, online forums, conferences, workshops, and professional groups; Extensive training of junior team members to ensure their technical growth; Provide leadership and technical expertise for the design, creation, testing and maintenance of innovative medical research-focused big data repositories; Perform other duties as requested by the research team. Requirements: Masters degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Health Informatics or related field or in the alternative a Bachelors degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Health Informatics or related field and five (5) years of progressive experience with database development in a healthcare and/or health research setting and data warehousing, including ETL techniques. Knowledge of SQL, SPSS and SAS; Knowledge of MySQL and Cerner. Knowledge of computerized statistical analysis tools, statistical techniques, computer programming and application development/maintenance.
