Data Center Technician III

Location: Onsite - Tacoma, WA
Duration: 6+ Months Contract role

Overview

We are looking for an experienced Data Center Technician to support daily data center operations. This role focuses on installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting physical infrastructure while ensuring reliability, accuracy, and compliance with established procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Install, maintain, and repair server hardware and related equipment, including racking, cabling, labeling, and asset documentation
  • Follow established data center processes and operational guidelines
  • Monitor physical environments and systems to ensure data center reliability
  • Respond to, resolve, and document incidents affecting data center infrastructure
  • Maintain accurate hardware inventory and maintenance records
  • Provide after-hours and on-call support as needed
  • Travel to other data center locations when required
  • Work under general supervision while demonstrating flexibility and problem-solving skills
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2-4 years of data center or related technical experience
  • Strong understanding of data center and server architecture
  • Ability to follow documented procedures precisely
  • CompTIA A+ (or equivalent foundational knowledge)
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, bending, reaching, and ladder work
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) tools
  • Networking or infrastructure certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Microsoft fundamentals)
  • Network cabling experience and/or certifications (CNCI, BICSI)
  • Data Center Certified Associate or similar certifications
