Data Center / Headend Technicians - Level 3 or 4 –Chicagoland. IL area

TekCom Resources, Inc, is currently recruiting for several Data Center / Headend Technicians for one of our national customers with needs in the Chicagoland, IL area. Travel throughout the Chicago IL area will be required. This is an excellent opportunity to develop and grow with an established company.

Previous experience as a supervisor mentoring junior technicians as well as the ability to lead client interactions is required.

Potential for contract to hire
Level 3 - $34-$37/hr. DoE
Level 4 - $37-$ 40/hr. DoE

Job Summary:
You will be leading and supervising a team that installs troubleshoots, upgrades, modifies, and performs preventive maintenance on ISP specific data centers and headend telecommunication sites throughout the Chicago, IL area.

Role:

You will be responsible for headend installation of routers, CMTS (cable modem termination system) and other broadband equipment for telecommunication companies.
Knowledge of preventive maintenance
Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex technical instructions, plans blueprints, and schematic diagrams.
Perform RF wiring with RG59 HEC, Mini RF, Cat 5/6, Fiber Jumpers and associated connectors, between active and passive devices.
Test and label all cables according to the Customer’s specifications.
Install racks, set rails, and cable trays.
Travel will is required between localized area sites.
3+ years of experience in data centers, headend, or central office environments
Must have effective communication and judgement skills
