Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support the design and delivery of mission-critical data center projects. This role partners closely with development and project teams to provide technical leadership, ensuring high-quality electrical system design, efficient project execution, and alignment with budget and schedule requirements.
The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in data center electrical infrastructure, strong project leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate across internal teams, consultants, and vendors.
Key Responsibilities
Support development teams in preparing RFPs, RFIs, and other technical documentation for customer engineering requirements
Review design documentation across disciplines, respond to RFIs, and approve technical submittals
Lead electrical design delivery from concept through construction documentation
Conduct detailed design reviews to identify risks, gaps, and non-conformances
Research and evaluate electrical equipment and systems to meet technical and customer requirements
Design, implement, and support electrical systems for data center facilities
Provide technical guidance throughout the design and construction phases to ensure performance standards are met
Perform post-delivery reviews to identify optimization opportunities and improve energy efficiency
Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to procure high-quality, cost-effective equipment
Manage external consultants and contractors throughout the design lifecycle
Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget
Support project documentation, reporting, and coordination efforts
Manage permitting, approvals, and coordination with relevant authorities
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Provide feedback on contractor and consultant performance and escalate risks as needed
Contribute to the development of design standards and best practices as technologies evolve
Support site selection and feasibility efforts through technical due diligence
Mentor team members and contribute to training and knowledge-sharing initiatives
Qualifications
Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
Minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical or building services design and construction, with a focus on data centers
Professional licensure or equivalent certification preferred
Experience with electrical protection and coordination studies
Strong project management experience, including RFQ/RFP processes, budgeting, and consultant coordination
Proficiency in data center Basis of Design (BOD) development
Solid understanding of industrial and commercial architecture and engineering
Experience working with electrical subcontractors and vendor relationships
In-depth knowledge of electrical infrastructure, construction practices, and cost estimation
Experience managing cross-functional project teams
Strong contract negotiation and stakeholder management skills
Familiarity with hyperscale and colocation data center design standards
Understanding of construction methodologies and project delivery processes
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; basic knowledge of PowerPoint
