Position Details:

  • Exempt Salary position based upon experience & skill level
  • Hire Options:
    • Direct hire (only if they are open to up to 50% U.S. travel after project conclusion) – up to $145K
    • Contract or C2H - $62.50 -$69.71/HR (Exempt fixed weekly salary broken down hourly for vendor invoicing purposes only)
  • Standard site hours: Mon-Fri 7:00am-4:00pm (after hours and weekends as needed)
  • Location: Daily onsite - client site in Bowling Green, OH 43402 (this is new site and is expected to be fully operational within 4-6 months, we currently have 2 sites in the area that are very close together)
  • Up to 15%-50% travel depending on project needs. Higher travel expected after local project completion
  • Direct supervision responsibilities included.
  • Interview scheduled – all virtual: 1st – 30 min w/ Recruiter, 2nd – 45 min w/ Program Manager, 3rd – 30 min w/ HRBP

Requirements:

3-5 yrs relevant experience

  • Maintain and manage5-week look-ahead schedules, labor forecasts, and daily progress tracking
  • Change management and RFIs
  • Oversight of safety, compliance, and incident investigations
  • Oversee goals, budget, milestones
  • Working knowledge of ISP, OTDR
  • Hiring, training, performance evaluations
  • Senior SME for data centerlow voltage, structured cabling.

Union experience is required for this site

Managing field teams of 60-100+

Data Center(new build/retrofits) highly preferred

Proficiency with MS Office, Blue beam, Primavera P6, Schedule Performance Index (SPI), Cost Performance Index (CPI)

Preferred certifications:

  • OSHA30 (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
  • BICSI Technician (TECH)
  • BICSI RCDD

Profile –

  • 3-5 yrs CM experience
  • High focus on safety and OSHA compliance
  • Working knowledge of:
    • Cabling Standards, Labeling & Documentation
    • Rack, Stack & Infrastructure Layouts
  • Quality Control & Punch-List Resolution
  • Preventative Maintenance & Inspections
  • Vendor & Cross-Trade Coordination
  • Direct on-site technicians performing rack, stack, and cabling work
  • Coordinate structured cabling installs, re-routes, and clean-ups
  • Monitor workmanship quality, labeling accuracy, and pathway management
  • Conduct daily walk-throughs to identify issues, hazards, or inefficiencies
  • Support new build-outs and expansions in containerized and fixed facilities
  • Conducted on-site audits

We're searching for an experienced Data Center Construction Manager who thrives on largescale, complex projects and knows how to lead field teams to deliver flawless structured cabling and low voltage installations.

This is a senior, onsite leadership role where you'll take full ownership of construction execution—from day one planning through commissioning and closeout—ensuring projects are safe, on schedule, fully compliant, and built to the high standards we are known for.

What You'll Lead

Own Safety as Priority #1

  • Model and enforce Black Box's Accident-Free Everyday safety culture.
  • Lead jobsite safety standards, compliance, and continuous improvement.
  • Support incident investigations, RCAs, and data driven lessons learned.

Direct Data Center Construction Operations

  • Drive the development and implementation of project plans, installation strategies, and site logistics.
  • Maintain and manage 5 week lookahead schedules, labor forecasts, and daily progress tracking.
  • Coordinate with Project Management and Procurement to ensure timely delivery and staging of materials.
  • Oversee daily field operations to meet or exceed production goals, budget, and schedule milestones.

Ensure Technical Excellence & Standards Compliance

  • Serve as the senior SME for data center low voltage, structured cabling, and fiber installations.
  • Guarantee compliance with ANSI/TIA, BICSI, NEBS, and all customer specifications.
  • Lead testing and commissioning activities including OTDR, power meter validation, labeling standards, and quality assurance protocols.
  • Identify design gaps, field conflicts, or changes; drive RFIs, clarifications, and scope adjustments.

Lead, Mentor & Develop Field Teams

  • Manage large (100+) field technician teams—union or nonunion.
  • Conduct hiring, training, performance evaluations, and career development for onsite personnel.
  • Provide technical coaching and mentorship to accelerate crew capabilities and elevate work quality.
  • Foster a culture grounded in safety, collaboration, accountability, and craftsmanship.

Be the Customer's Trusted Onsite Partner

  • Act as the main construction operations liaison for the client.
  • Participate in customer meetings, site walks, technical discussions, and milestone reviews.
  • Proactively address challenges around workflow, delays, installation issues, or tactical execution.

  • Ability to interpret complex drawings, specifications, and construction schedules.
  • Experience identifying design discrepancies and managing technical change control.

Operational & Digital Skills

  • Ability to build and manage work activity sequencing and project phasing plans.
  • Strong computer skills: MS Office, Bluebeam, and construction management platforms.
  • Ability to quickly learn new construction technologies and workflow tools.

What You Bring

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 3–5+ years of supervisory experience on largescale structured cabling or data center construction projects.
  • Experience managing large, dispersed field teams (100+).
  • Data center new build or retrofit experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with union telecom crews and labor compliance preferred.
