Data Center Analyst Amherst, NY (Onsite) 6+-month Contract Web Cam Interview $35-$40/Hr on W2 Notes From Manager / Required Skills & Exp.: Worker Shift Requirement will be 1pm-9pm 4 days each week (need to be flexible) - Primary will be Tuesday - Friday but on occasion to assist with coverage of PTO, might require work Monday - Thursday. Skill Set 1: Excellent Technical Communication Skills Skill Set 2: Experience with Installing Hardware & Cabling Infrastructure in a Data Center Environment Skill Set 3: High Level Team Oriented & Customer Focused mindset OVERVIEW: Responsible for effective installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware related infrastructure. Ensures Data Center standards are complied with and policies and procedures are followed as outlined. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Interpret and refine project requirements through active written and verbal communication with engineering staff and other less technical team members. Assign appropriate rack space, infrastructure cables and ports, LAN switch ports, and management switch ports. Accept delivery and pick-up of equipment, staging equipment for installation and pick-up, and proper handling of shipping documents. Install and remove routers, switches, servers, security appliances, and other equipment, as well as, copper cable, fiber cable, racks, patch panels, and other infrastructure components commonly found in a data center environment. Engage with the project team to ensure all projects are implemented in step with documented processes, procedures, and standards and with minimal impact to the business. Develop and maintain adequate documentation to allow peer review prior to implementation and to ensure efficiency of future maintenance activities. Interact with others to clearly explain technical requirements, instructions, and status through written and verbal communication with individuals of varied technical knowledge and at all organizational levels. Complete evening responsibilities as scheduled as well as 24x7 on call as required. Understand and adhere to the Company's risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company's Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management. Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand. Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable. Complete other related duties as assigned. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Combined minimum of 4 years higher education and/or work experience. Capability to read and digest technical information. Detail-oriented. Proven written and verbal communication skills. Experience providing updates and statuses. Experience communicating technical problems to management. Strong customer focus, including experience managing customer needs and multiple work priorities. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED: Associates degree in Technology or related field. Certifications or special training in related technologies.
