Data Bricks Developer

Role Overview

We are seeking a Databricks Developer to support a strategic data platform re‑architecture initiative, transitioning core data assets from Databricks into Salesforce Data Cloud to enable scalable, compliant, and experience‑driven omnichannel execution.

This role will focus on zero‑copy data patterns, modern data architecture, and ensuring that analytical and operational data can be activated downstream to support customer and user experience initiatives across marketing, CRM, and digital channels within a regulated pharmaceutical environment.

The ideal candidate is comfortable working at the intersection of data engineering, platform modernization, and experience enablement, with strong ownership over re‑architecture efforts.

Key Responsibilities

Databricks Engineering & Zero‑Copy Architecture

• Design and implement zero‑copy or near‑zero‑copy data access patterns to minimize duplication and latency across platforms
• Develop and optimize Databricks pipelines using Spark, Delta Lake, and modern data engineering practices
• Maintain high‑performance data processing while supporting downstream activation requirements
• Evaluate existing Databricks workloads and identify opportunities for architectural simplification and cost efficiency

Data Platform Re‑Architecture (Databricks → Data Cloud)

• Lead execution of data re‑architecture initiatives migrating analytical and customer data from Databricks into Salesforce Data Cloud
• Partner with Salesforce Data Cloud engineers to align source structures with destination schemas and ingestion patterns
• Ensure data lineage, integrity, and consistency throughout the transition
• Support phased migrations that reduce risk while enabling early downstream value

Pharmaceutical Data & Governance Alignment

• Work with pharma‑specific data domains including HCP, patient, product, interaction, and engagement data
• Ensure data structures and flows support regulatory, privacy, and audit requirements common to life sciences organizations
• Collaborate with governance and compliance teams to ensure architecture decisions meet enterprise standards
• Maintain clear documentation of data flows, dependencies, and transformation logic

Omnichannel & User Experience Enablement

• Build data foundations that enable consistent, trusted data activation across omnichannel user experiences
• Ensure data pipelines and structures support segmentation, identity resolution, and downstream personalization
• Partner with UX, marketing technology, analytics, and CRM teams to understand experience requirements and data implications
• Enable performant, reliable data access to support real‑time or near‑real‑time engagement use cases

Required Qualifications

• Hands‑on experience as a Databricks Developer or Data Engineer
• Strong experience with Spark, Databricks, and modern data lake / lakehouse architectures
• Experience implementing or supporting zero‑copy data access patterns
• Proven experience executing platform re‑architecture or data migration initiatives
• Strong understanding of data modeling, transformations, and pipeline orchestration
• Experience working with pharmaceutical, healthcare, or other regulated data environments
• Ability to collaborate across platform, analytics, UX, and application teams
