Data Architect

Purpose

We are seeking an experienced Data Architect to join our growing engineering team. In this role, you will work closely with Data Engineering, Data Product Management, Business Intelligence, and Data Science teams to design and implement scalable enterprise data solutions that enable data-driven decision-making.

As a Data Architect, you will lead the development of enterprise data architecture, establish data standards and governance, and ensure data solutions align with business objectives, architectural best practices, and regulatory requirements. This is a highly visible, hands-on role that requires collaboration across multiple teams and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Enterprise Data Architecture

• Define and maintain enterprise data architecture principles, standards, and best practices.
• Design scalable data warehouse, data lake, and end-to-end data pipeline architectures.
• Establish standards for data modeling, integration, migration, governance, security, and data consumption.
• Review and approve data architecture designs to ensure compliance with enterprise standards.
• Provide architectural guidance for strategic enterprise initiatives.

Solution Design

• Design logical and physical data models.
• Create technical architecture documentation for data warehouse, data lake, and data pipeline solutions.
• Develop functional and technical requirements for ETL/ELT and Business Intelligence development teams.
• Design secure, scalable, and high-performance data solutions.

Business & Stakeholder Collaboration

• Gather and analyze business and technical requirements from stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Agile teams, product managers, and business users.
• Perform intake prioritization and cost-benefit analysis for data initiatives.
• Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.

Data Engineering & Analytics

• Design enterprise-scale data pipelines and integration solutions.
• Build and support self-service reporting platforms and enterprise data lakes.
• Design automated reporting solutions for business leaders and executives.
• Develop enterprise data quality management frameworks and tooling.

Leadership

• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to engineering teams.
• Promote best practices in enterprise data architecture.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Statistics, Mathematics, Finance, Economics, or a related quantitative discipline.
• Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred.
• 6+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Business Intelligence, Analytics, or related technical roles.
• 4+ years of experience designing enterprise-scale data architectures and commercial data pipelines.
• Experience designing scalable, secure, and reliable data platforms.
• Strong experience gathering business and technical requirements.
• Experience writing architecture documents and technical specifications.
• Ability to thrive in fast-paced, evolving environments.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

• Pay Rate: $75 - $85 per Hour
  • Note: Pay rate will be commensurate with experience.
