Davidson is seeking a Data Architect to define and govern end-to-end data structures supporting Navy HPTE systems. The candidate will translate high-level software objects, attributes, and relationships into implementable data structures, extending down to byte-level signal definitions within embedded and control system environments. The role requires ensuring data consistency, traceability, and interoperability across all system layers.
Responsibilities
Define end-to-end data architectures spanning software, integration, and embedded environments
Decompose high-level software objects into detailed data structures, schemas, and interfaces
Specify data representations down to byte-level signals for embedded and control systems
Define and manage data interfaces supporting real-time control, telemetry, and system coordination
Ensure alignment between software data structures and implementation-level data exchanges
Develop and document interface control specifications (ICDs) and data definitions
Collaborate with software and engineering teams to ensure consistent data implementation across systems
Required Qualifications
Active DoD Secret clearance with ability and willingness to upgrade to TS
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, or related field
6+ years of experience in data architecture or data engineering
Technical Skills
Experience defining data structures from application-level objects to embedded-level representations using UML in MagicDraw (aka. Cameo)
Strong understanding of data modeling concepts, schemas, and interface definitions
Experience with embedded systems data structures, messaging, and signal-level definitions
Familiarity with industrial control systems and PLC environments
Experience developing ICDs and interface specifications
Understanding of real-time data exchange and system integration patterns
