Title: Data Analyst - Sr
Location – Richmond or Mclean, VA - Hybrid
Duration : 6+ months
Pay Range: $45-50/hr on W2 without benefits 


Overview:
Our organization is the risk steward for ensuring a well-managed data ecosystem. We serve as the governance function accountable for data risk and are on a transformational journey to build out the data governance control framework. This focuses on automation and preventative controls to unleash the business for future data needs, including generative AI and new third-party data.

The team is currently hiring for a Data Analysis Contractor who will work closely with a group of analysts and risk managers to develop and improve data management-related controls and reporting to support our data management strategy. This role provides opportunities for deep analytics to execute and support future data strategies.

This individual should possess a strong understanding of data and data environments, a proven track record of technical skillsets, a passion for innovation and automation in a well-managed manner, and strong communication skills.

This role is ideal for a highly skilled individual contributor who is capable of supporting transformational change and delivering game-changing value through technical execution. The preferred candidate will have a strong data background and loves to partner with our business and eData partners.

What you’ll do:

  • Support current and future data strategy by leveraging your advanced analytical skills.
  • Work hands-on with vast amounts of data in new and evolving environments.
  • Leverage analytics to create a compelling customer experience that enables future data growth and usage.
  • Contribute to meaningful change in enterprise data products through the full data life cycle.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally across business units and eData product teams.
  • Share technical expertise and best practices with the broader analytical team.
  • Work with top talent in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment where analytics and good data are a top priority.

On any given day you will be:

  • Designing, developing, and continuously improving data management controls, while independently executing processes to evaluate the effectiveness of these controls in adherence to our methodology.
  • Applying a strategic mindset to the data footprint while developing technical improvements.
  • Building relationships and collaborating with key stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver insights.
  • Furthering the data agenda to drive sustainability, amplify simplification & automation, enable ownership & accountability through transparency, and strengthen the control ecosystem.

  • Be on the leading edge of analytical technology with a passion for the newest and most innovative tools.
  • Possess strong problem-solving and conceptual thinking abilities.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Operate in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment where you will be handling multiple concurrent projects while working independently and within agile teams.
  • Have a strong Business Intelligence (BI) component, and those with a BI and automated data profiling background are strongly encouraged to apply.

Skills:

  • At least 3-4 years of experience in strong data management/analysis.
  • Proficiency in Python, SQL, Databricks, and Snowflakes.
  • Experience with Business Intelligence tools like Quicksight or Tableau.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a high-paced environment.
  • Background in automated data profiling.
