Role: Data Analyst Position Type: Full-Time Contract (40hrs/week) Contract Duration: 6 Months Work Schedule: 8 hours/day (Mon-Fri) Timezone : PST Location: 100% Remote (Candidates can work from anywhere in Brazil Or Argentina) Project Description Client is seeking a detail-oriented, hands-on Data Analyst to join our analytics team on a project basis, reporting to our Senior Director of Data Analytics. This role will focus on executing analytics and reporting deliverables, translating business questions into clear data outputs, and supporting the broader team with high-quality, timely analysis. Have a migration with Sigma, deprecating an old feature and will require a lot of bandwidth. Would get assigned more day to day requests once up to speed to give more bandwidth Duties/Day to Day Overview Execute analytics and reporting projects from requirements through delivery, including data modeling, validation, and presentation. Work with business stakeholders to understand goals and translate them into clear analytical approaches and actionable insights. Build and maintain reporting, dashboards, and data models across merchandising, marketing, inventory, and operations. Support self-serve reporting by contributing to business-friendly dashboards and well-documented data models. Manage personal workload effectively, tracking tasks and communicating progress and blockers clearly. Follow established best practices for analytics intake, requirements, documentation, and delivery. Communicate clearly on active work, timelines, and any risks or tradeoffs that arise. Handle ad hoc and urgent analytics requests while maintaining quality and accuracy. Day to day 75% hands on keyboard/ 25% meetings 8am PST standup - required to attend Weekly project review on Tuesday - 8:30 PST - required Standard working hours, they can match PST hours or can work earlier but need to be consistent Meet with stakeholders to gather requirements along with Sean to hear from them directly and ask questions, summarize findings into actionable tasks, some UAT Jira and confluence, might give them a ticket and how to split it into lower level tickets and will be doing some of that and other development writing SQL, creating Sigma workbooks Writing queries to pull data from Snowflake - have a data eng team that writes pipelines to get data into Snowflake Have some biz logic in Sigma but looking to move that to Snowflake - trying to make Sigma just visualization layer Visualization is not as important, data they serve in Sigma is tabular with filters applied. Most logic in SQL queries and upstream in snowflake Would get data from sourcetables and curated tables not raw data and would write their queries from those. Writing queries in snowflake (views/tables/tasks/store procedures). Sigma side (BI layer) component of need to learn the Sigma UI (should be easy enough). doing their own QA - all peer reviewed Top Requirements 24 years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or a related field; retail or e-commerce experience a plus. Proficiency in SQL and experience with modern cloud data warehouses and BI platforms (Snowflake and Sigma preferred). Ability to independently execute analytics projects from problem definition through delivery. Comfortable partnering with business stakeholders and translating their questions into clear analytical outputs. Experience building dashboards, metrics, and data models that support reporting and self-serve use cases. Able to manage personal priorities and delivery timelines in a fast-paced environment. Clear communication and documentation skills for both technical and non-technical audiences. Working knowledge of retail performance drivers across merchandising, marketing, inventory, and/or operations. Organized, proactive, and able to balance competing priorities while maintaining quality. SQL - must have Writing SQL queries to pull data from snowflake Familiarity with window functions, CTEs, joins, aggregators Familiarity with AI to help them, need foundational knowledge of SQL without it. More fluent in using AI to help their workflows, speed things up. Claude familiarity BI tools Sigma, Tableau, or Power BI Visualization is not required QA experience Manual QA, ideally writing their own tests and have some documentation in place to support Good communication skills Ability to speak with stakeholders, gather requirements and turn into actionable tasks Additional Qualifications Snowflake - nice to have/bonus Sigma - nice to have - STAR Retail nice to have, wouldn't want to dismiss candidates and can get them up to speed
