Anticipated Salary Range: $70,000 - $110,000 Annually

Knowesis is currently seeking a Data Analyst I to provide data analytics and technical data management support services for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Division of Diabetes Translation (DDT), Translation, Health Education and Evaluation Branch (THEEB). This position supports DDT's mission to prevent type 2 diabetes and manage diabetes in populations with high burdens of risk or disease by providing technical data extraction, management, integration, and advanced analytic support across cooperative agreement recipient programs. To be eligible for this position, candidates must possess U.S. Citizenship without the need for sponsorship, both now and in the future.

The Job Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Extract APR and performance measurement data; develop structured analytic datasets; standardize and harmonize variables across reporting cycles; maintain documentation of extraction procedures.
• Conduct systematic data cleaning and validation; identify missing or inconsistent data; implement reproducible validation scripts; document data quality issues and corrective actions.
• Compile DPRP encounter-level datasets; conduct descriptive and longitudinal analyses; analyze engagement and outcomes; generate standardized outputs and reproducible statistical code.
• Compile ADA and ADCES datasets; harmonize data elements; conduct cross-site comparative analyses; assess reach and outcomes.
• Identify and integrate relevant national-level secondary datasets as directed; conduct comparative and contextual analyses; document limitations and assumptions; apply analytic methods to assess how implementation factors (e.g., reach, fidelity, adaptation) influence outcomes.
• Perform complex analytical studies using qualitative and quantitative methods; interpret results and coordinate evaluation of programs; recommend improvements informed by analysis.
• Work with implementation-related measures (e.g., reach, fidelity, dose, adaptation) and link implementation variables to outcomes.
• Analyze mixed-methods data, integrating qualitative and quantitative findings to support cross-task evaluation activities.
• Communicate findings, both orally and in writing, through clear and convincing presentations, reports, and analytic summaries; advise program administrators and members of the community; respond to inquiries; and interact with high-level officials and representatives from public and private public health organizations.
• Ensure all datasets and analytic deliverables meet data quality standards for accuracy, completeness, consistency, currency, precision, privacy, timeliness, and validity.
• Maintain documentation and reproducible code in CDC-recognized source code repositories; comply with Federal Source Code Policy requirements.
• Comply with all HHS/CDC security, privacy, records management, and Section 508 accessibility requirements, including completion of annual HHS security awareness and privacy training and CDC Non-Disclosure Agreements.

Required Qualifications:

• Knowledge of the principles, concepts, methods, and techniques of public health research and evaluation to analyze, evaluate, and provide expert advice and consultation.
• Knowledge of the principles, methods, applications, state-of-the-art technology in the position's scientific area of responsibility to provide direction and guidance on critical and complex issues.
• Ability to perform complex analytical studies (qualitative and quantitative analysis) and interpretation of results to coordinate the evaluation of programs and recommend improvements.
• Experience working with implementation-related measures (e.g., reach, fidelity, dose, adaptation) and linking implementation variables to outcomes.
• Experience analyzing mixed-methods data (e.g., qualitative and quantitative integration).
• Ability to communicate, both orally and in writing, to make clear, convincing presentations, explain and justify recommendations, represent the agency and assigned program or project areas, provide guidance, and advise program administrators and members of the community, respond to inquiries, and interact with high-level officials and representatives from public and private public health organizations.
• Knowledge of the rules, procedures, and principles that govern intramural and extramural program development, monitoring, and evaluation.
• Ability to use Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Teams, and SharePoint) efficiently and effectively.
• Ability to use and manage CDC Administrative Systems (HUMAN SUBJECTS, OMB AND IRB, and E-Clearance) efficiently and effectively.
• Previous experience working with government procedures and guidelines.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or master's degree in public health, data science, biostatistics, epidemiology, health informatics, or a related field.
• Experience with statistical programming languages or analytic platforms such as SAS, R, Python, or SQL.
• Experience working with Power BI, MAXQDA, or similar data visualization and qualitative analysis tools.
• Familiarity with CDC data systems, including DPRP, APR platforms, or comparable public health data management environments.
• Experience supporting federal public health data analytics programs at HHS, CDC, or a comparable agency.
• Subject matter knowledge of diabetes prevention, DSMES, or National DPP program data structures and reporting requirements.
