Primary Purpose:
Provide instruction, behavioral support, and academic interventions for students assigned to the DAEP. Foster a structured, safe, and supportive learning environment that promotes academic progress, personal responsibility, and successful transition back to the regular campus.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Valid state teaching certification.
- Experience working with at-risk youth, behavioral intervention programs, or alternative education settings preferred.
- Knowledge of classroom management techniques and student behavior interventions.
- Strong communication, organization, and conflict-resolution skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver instruction aligned with state standards and district curriculum.
- Develop and implement individualized learning plans as needed.
- Maintain a highly structured classroom environment with clear behavioral expectations.
- Monitor and document student academic performance and behavior.
- Use behavior management strategies and restorative practices to address student needs.
- Collaborate with administrators, counselors, special education staff, and parents.
- Prepare progress reports and maintain accurate student records.
- Support students in developing social, emotional, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Participate in student transition planning for return to the home campus.
- Ensure compliance with district policies, state regulations, and safety procedures.
