El Operador de Equipo Pesado opera de manera segura equipos de construcción para apoyar actividades de construcción de carreteras, puentes, excavación, instalación de utilidades, nivelación de terrenos y desarrollo de sitios. El operador es responsable de cumplir con los objetivos de producción, manteniendo el equipo en buenas condiciones y siguiendo las especificaciones del proyecto.

Heavy Equipment Operator – Heavy Civil Construction
Position Summary
The Heavy Equipment Operator safely operates construction equipment to support roadway, bridge, excavation, utility, grading, and site development activities. The Operator is responsible for achieving production goals while maintaining equipment and following project specifications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Operate heavy construction equipment including excavators, dozers, loaders, motor graders, rollers, skid steers, backhoes, and haul trucks.
· Perform excavation, grading, trenching, material handling, and backfilling operations.
· Read and understand grade stakes, site plans, and construction drawings.
· Perform daily equipment inspections and report maintenance needs.
· Ensure equipment is operated safely and efficiently.
· Work closely with supervisors, survey crews, laborers, and utility crews.
· Maintain proper trench safety and excavation practices.
· Load trucks and transport materials within project limits.
· Follow project schedules and productivity requirements.
· Maintain compliance with company safety policies and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
· Minimum 5 years of heavy equipment operating experience preferred.
· Experience operating multiple types of heavy construction equipment.
· Knowledge of grading, excavation, and utility installation operations.
· Ability to work safely around underground utilities and personnel.
· Valid driver's license required; CDL preferred but not required.
· Strong understanding of construction safety practices.

Physical Requirements (All Positions)

· Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
· Ability to work overtime, nights, weekends, and travel as project needs require.
